We are zooming in on the details at our interior remodel project in Claremont California and it’s all about millwork, moldings, paint and wallpaper layouts!
The dining room in the house has two existing built-in corner cabinets that are being refinished and we are adding a new low wood wainscotting to help frame the mural wallpaper that will wrap the space. #modernshmodern
Using photoshop, we overlayed the composite mural image on the interior elevations, stitched together so that we can see the wrapping that will happen in the room. To wrap the three walls of the dining room we will need a total of 12 panels, but which panels will work best?
Options 1 looks at using panels 1 through 12. Panel 1 will start on the far left wall and then will wrap to the far right wall. This centers the lake and estates views on the primary wall.
Option 2 looks at using panels 10 through 20 and using a little bit of panel 1 to finish the wrap. This creates a more pastoral setting with the primary wall showcasing the human occupants of the mural walking through fields and along dirt roads.
Option 3 looks at using panels 17 through 8 and creates a similar view to Option 1, with a lake and estate view, but it is more removed from the front of the scene on the primary mural wall.
Finally, let’s look at it in the room using Enscape… Hmmm… is bright white trim right in this space?
